Favorite Success Quote
Sanja: “Life is not measured by the amount of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.“
Cole: “The truth is you can spend your life any way you want, but you can spend it only once.” –John C. Maxwell — Thinking For A Change
1. Love & Relationship Health
Know where you are going in your life. Cole and Sanja’s relationship developed over a period of a couple years. They grew as individuals and then fell in love as a couple. Each of them has designated areas that the other trusts them to manage and take care of. For example, Cole shares that Sanja is CEO of the house and he is CEO of the business, and they each sit on each other’s board of advisors. For these areas, they strongly trust each other’s judgment. Both Sanja and Cole openly share that they are people of the faith. This grounding along with having a clear set of values helps facilitate a healthy long term relationship.
2. Life Is What You Make It – Tragedy Into Triumph
Cole explains that he moved out to Seattle, Washington and became a firefighter after high school. When he moved to a new area, he decided to seek community by getting involved in church. He became very involved in his faith during this time in his life. He shares that he lost both of his best friends through tragic accidents, just two months apart. This lead him to a dark time. He shares that the word depression doesn’t even begin to describe it. He attended a one-week event called Campus Crusade for Christ. This experience rocked his world.
He believes people need to decide, on their own, to desire a relationship with God. So that when, not if, something tough happens in your life, you will be rooted in that foundation of faith and be better prepared for the curveballs life will throw your way.
So many people wait to get prepared for the storm until it is here, but you need to prepare for the storm before it’s here. Cole’s friend and business partner Dr. Eric Thomas, the #1 motivational speaker in the world, spent hours in prayer every morning for over twenty years.
3. Generate Curiosity About What Works By Loving Others
Try not to be hypocritical and judgmental. Whether you believe in God, you are an atheist, a Christian, a Muslim, or something else, do not judge a religion or group by a small example of extremists who in fact are hypocrites. To be a Christian means to be Christ like. Jesus’ example was that of love and loving everyone. As a Christian, Cole and Sanja believe you should not endorse what you do not believe, and that there is a loving approach to this. They admit to being imperfect but believe they are called to love others unconditionally. They chose to actively love everyone.
Although you may not agree with or endorse a lifestyle, you can still treat everyone with love and be generous. Sanja and Cole try hard to live by example and generate curiosity about where their inner peace comes from.
4. God’s Plans Cannot be Stopped & Trusting The Process
Speaking with deep perspective and true appreciation, Cole and Sanja share that sometimes business partnerships will not work out. Though you may be pursuing certain business partnerships, the door may close. This door closing is a step in the right direction. Other times, you may be blessed with an incredible and unexpected business partnership that was in God’s plan for you the entire time. Trust the process God has you on and press on. Sanja shares that recently they are thrilled to be working with Eric Thomas, the #1 motivational speaker in the world. Look for people who make you better simply by being around them.

Heart Healthy Hustle Round
Heart: What activity do you use to care for and strengthen your internal character?
Sanja (and Cole): Audits. Audit your relationship and your business. This helps your heart in every aspect and leads to them being better parents, business partners, and CEO’s. Being business partners AND parents they are careful to stay on top of these audits. They are careful to do these audits to keep their priorities clear and remain close to one another along their business journey. These detailed audits include analysis of each facet of their business and their marriage relationship.
Cole: Cole absolutely LOVES cars. Cole has a few fun cars and he enjoys taking out his stress by going for drives. For example, he owns a Dodge Viper, a V10 Audio R8, and a few others. Cole also talks about the importance of intentional detailed audits.
Health: How do you maintain your physical health and avoid burn out?
They have personal trainers that come to them to make sure they are being held accountable. Their trainers will hold them accountable and push them to go harder. They have a home gym as well. Cole mentions that the pace of their life, which includes running over three businesses, the only way that fitness works, is to schedule it and pay for it in advance. They also allow their trainers to hold them accountable to their fitness goals.
Hustle: What’s your main motivation for doing what you do?
Sanja: To be a good example to their little girls. They work hard every day to set an example for their two wonderful daughters. They pray each night before bed. They give their daughters positive affirmations.
Cole: God gave us a lot of work to do, and he wants to get it done. He wants to get to heaven at the end of his life and hear, “well done my good and faithful servant.”
