“Jonathan, I am FIRED UP to be here brother!” – JLD

Key Points

1. What specific fundamentals have you implemented that allow you to serve consistently without burning out?

Balance.  Strive every single day for balance.  It starts with assessing your night’s sleep.  Know your sleep quality.  Ensure you are starting out your morning in the right way, hydrating with high-quality water.  Be productive, disciplined, and focused, when you want to be.  When you are working, be productive.  When you are working, be disciplined.  When you are working, be focused.  Follow one course until success.  When you are not working, be free and just be.  That is the balance.  Hack your susceptibilities, always adjusting.

2. Your podcast and brand Entrepreneurs On Fire earned over $140,000 in January alone.  What do you do with all this money?  How do you handle massive success?

John moved to Puerto Rico so he could keep the money he makes and avoid taxes.  He relocated to Puerto Rico so he could invest.  He invests in things like stocks, bonds, and mutual funds.  He also invests in himself and enjoying his lifestyle of freedom.

3. Was the growth of your podcast gradual or was it rapid?

You have to be the BEST, in your niche.  There are countless niches out there.  Pick one and become best in show.  Be the gold medalist.  The first result in Google and Amazon win exponentially.  What is the one niche you will dominate and crush?  If you cannot be #1 in a niche, you need to keep going deeper until you can be #1.  You are not stuck here.  Once you gain success, you can branch out.   You have to get the intial momentum by niching.

The Heart Healthy Hustle Round

Heart: What activity do you use to care for and strengthen your internal character?

Healthy peers. Masterminds. Accountability.  Surrounding himself with people who hold him accountable.  If he sways from his character, they question his actions and help keep him on track.

Health: How do you maintain your physical health and avoid burn out?

It is John’s #1 focus every day.  He has invested in experts, coaches, and doctors in every category so he can thrive.  His goal is to enter his 40’s with the same energy and vitality that he entered his 20’s and 30’s.

Hustle: What’s your main motivation for doing what you do?  Hustling to the max of your potential?

Lifestyle freedom (location, financial).  Once you have tasted freedom, there’s no going back.  He wants to keep building more and keep impacting.  He also recognizes the ripple effect of his work.  He is driven by the waterfall of influence.

What do you think is holding most proactive individuals back from fully thriving and actually becoming the person they know they can be?

Lack of confidence in their ability to create.  People feel like imposters to do the thing they want.  Lacking confidence is detrimental to your growth.  Work hard.  Educate yourself.  Invest in others and yourself.  This trains your mind to recognize you earned it (confidence).

What is YOUR #1 Piece of advice for a proactive professional struggling to decide WHAT to do with his/ her life?

Try to become a person of value instead of a person of success.  Ask yourself, “what am I creating of value in the world?”  “What solutions am I providing to people’s real-world problem?”  If you consistently ask yourself this question, this will yield momentum.

If you could go back in time, what would you tell your younger self to do and not to do – Why?

“Brother, relax.  Just RELAX!  Just get 1% better every single day.  Read ‘The Slight Edge’.”

We are in such a rush when we are young.  Nothing happens overnight.  Success and anything worth achieving almost always takes time.
